Individual growth and challenge by choice is a fundamental theme at the Camp Couchiching Outdoor Centre. Development within a safe and supportive environment is the core of our camp experience. Providing experiential education is a focus of our centre and this is reflected in all of our sessions.
Camp Couchiching fosters an inclusive environment that supports our campers while challenging them to take productive risks and to try new things. Our outdoor centre invests in the individual experience of every camper. This investment is our starting point and the foundation that our community is built on.
Camp Couchiching has been providing quality outdoor education programs for over 35 years. We aim to provide outdoor education experiences that are challenging, engaging and exciting for all participants. We want everyone who visits our Outdoor Centre to leave having developed a new skill and many life-long memories.
Camp Couchiching is located 90 minutes north of Toronto, just outside of Orillia in a town called Longford Mills on Rama Road. Camp Couchiching occupies 20 acres of beautiful natural surroundings on the eastern shores of Lake Couchiching. Our site is very private, easily navigated and 15min away from in-town amenities and emergency medical services.
Camp Couchiching is fortunate to have a significant waterfront area extending over 1000 feet. Situated on a point, our camp enjoys two private bays for our waterfront programming. As well, our waterfront is also one of the safest due to its depth and visibility.
Lake Couchiching means ‘Lake of Many Winds’ which helps to minimise or eliminate the amount of mosquitoes and black flies that visit our site. This fact helps us to provide the ideal outdoor education experience by allowing the campers to focus on the activities and not the bugs.
