/ OUR TEAM

Many of our camp staff are 3rd generation campers who learned Leadership Skills right here.

CCLC Logo Transparent.pngThe Camp Couchiching Learning Commons (CCLC) is a reinvention of our program delivery, a new source of sustainable revenue generation and a way to leverage our experience in year-round growth. We are perfectly positioned to deliver this with decades of education-based offerings and over 3 years of planning around this specific idea. We are now presented with an ideal opportunity to implement this growth as it is essential for our organization’s rebuilding and recovery.

We are very pleased to have received funding from the Ontario Trillium Foundation to sponsor this work!

The CCLC has three pillars that align with the impact and outcomes:

  1. The first pillar is The Climbing Tree learning supports for students K to 12 and includes tutoring, credit acquisition and individualized, virtual delivery of programs. Families will see many opportunities to engage at camp and at home with programs . This programming will be embedded into all activities we operate this year in a fun, engaging and experiential manner. Camp in a Box items are available for purchase through this external link to our Camp Etsy store: https://www.etsy.com/ca/shop/CampCouchiching
  2. The second pillar is the Couchiching Learning Centre. This in-person, small cohort program is rooted in experiential education pedagogy and offers balance to students and families between tech-based learning and active play-based learning. Running from September to June for K to 12, it works within COVID restrictions, as we can scale the cohorts independently of one another. Please click here for all the details on the programs our Learning Centre operates.
  3. The third pillar is The Couchiching Collective Impact Group. This peer-to-peer learning network will be provincial in scope and focus on other camp and outdoor education organizations that are seeking ways to diversify their year-round impact and revenue. We are perfectly suited to build this network as we are actively committed to year-round community engagement work for nearly a decade.

We are thrilled to have Hilary Villneff join our team as the lead staff member on this special project. Ross and Lexi support this project as well! Learn more about these 3 terrific staff members by clicking here.

Our work is guided by this theory of change:
