FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT OUTDOOR EDUCATION
Camp Couchiching is a seasonal property and is not open from November until late April.
During July & August, we are packed with our own programs so we don't host any rentals.
DO YOU OFFER DAY PROGRAMS FOR SCHOOLS/GROUPS MID-WEEK?
During the months of May, June, September and October, we do have schools at Camp. These bookings can't be done before March each year as our priority is overnight groups. Please contact us to express your interest and the best dates for your group.
CAN WE BOOK THE CAMP FOR A WEEKEND?
We do rent our facility for rental groups on some weekends in May, June, September and October. Our typical groups take the full facility, which can accommodate up to 150 people, and rates start at approximately $10,000 for a weekend +/- depending on the amount of staff support the rental group needs.
WHAT AMENITIES ARE THERE LIKE ELECTRICITY, HEAT, HOT WATER, SHOWERS AND WIFI?
Our cabins are heated, have electricity, hot & cold running water, bunk beds, storage shelves and toilets! Showers are located in a different building located near each cabin.
Wi-fi is available at certain locations within Camp and is available for adults at Camp.
CAN THE COORDINATORS ARRIVE EARLY TO SET UP? HOW EARLY?
Yes! We typically will allow Coordinators an early arrival time to set up for their groups. The timing varies based on the group which is departing.
DO I SHARE THE CAMP AMENITIES WITH ANOTHER GROUP WHEN WE ARE THERE?
For most of the weekend groups we book, we book out the whole facility exclusively to one group. Occasionally we will get two similar groups with smaller numbers coming to us at the same time, for example, 2 different Guiding or Scouting groups. We wouldn't book an adult group with a youth based group at the same time.
